I find it interesting how they separate people by wealth as if that is the most important thing in the world. The people in the West Egg have recently became rich so they don't have the social connections to move to the East Egg. Nick lives in a modest house which is right next door to Gatsby's mansion. Nick, on the other hand, lives in West Egg but has many connections in East Egg and has graduated from Yale so he drives to East Egg and has dinner with his cousin Daisy and her husband, Tom, who he knows from Yale . My opinions on the characters are that Tom is a liar and cheater and that Daisy knows that and doesn't actually love him. Nick doesn't really belong where he is but he doesn't mind.
